Sep 6-8, 2024
A collaboration with daegeum (traditional Korean flute) player, featuring interactive visual elements that respond to the performance in the historic Gangdangji site at Mireuksaji.
A performance of daegeum (Traditional Korean Flute) unfolds with interactive light along with pillars of light in Gangdangji.
Gangdangji: The “Gangdang” was a place where large groups gathered for Buddhist lectures, sermons, and religious ceremonies. The Gangdangji at Mireuksaji is 65.6 meters long (13 rooms) from east to west, and 9.8 meters wide (4 rooms) from north to south, with a total area of 1,298 square meters, nearly twice the size of the Gangdangji at Neungsan-ri temple site in Buyeo. Six foundation stones for corridor structures remain. It is the largest and most well-preserved stone-podium building from the Baekje period, providing insight into podium construction techniques.
