Permanent Public Installation at Suncheon Bay National Garden, Suncheon, Korea Renovation of the existing “Dream Bridge”

This project involved the multimedia renovation of the aging “Dream Bridge,” a container-based structure over 10 years old, transforming it into “SPACE BRIDGE”—a cutting-edge digital space utilizing advanced attractions and technologies. Spanning 175 meters, it stands as Asia’s longest walking-through attraction.

The spatial concept follows a narrative: an extraterrestrial visitor, captivated by the beauty of the Suncheon Bay National Garden (visited by ten million people), lands to recharge with the bay’s primordial life energy—its water and nature—before returning to its home world. The installation’s interior combines digital and analog elements across three themes: Space, Water, and the Suncheon Bay Wetland, emphasizing life energy.

A significant contribution to this immersive experience was the LED lighting animation work. This element was crucial in visually interpreting the core themes, animating the flow of energy, the mysteries of space, and the vibrant aura of the water section (‘Mul-meong’ or water contemplation zone). The dynamic lighting helps guide visitors through the narrative and enhances the interactive elements designed to connect audiences with the raw beauty of the Suncheon Bay ecosystem, represented through 3D visuals and the sounds of its native species (hooded cranes, red-clawed crabs, reeds).

The exterior reinforces the narrative, featuring a futuristic aesthetic with metal fabric cladding, symbolizing the alien’s landing site and a launchpad for children’s dreams into space. Water pillars beneath the bridge piers evoke the powerful imagery of a spaceship launch.
